Meri Shadley

Dr. Shadley is an Associate Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno where she is also Program Director for N-RAP and the Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies’s (CASAT) Director of Academics. Dr. Shadley is dually licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor as well as provides supervision to LADC, MFT, and CPC interns for the State of Nevada. She has an active clinical practice and has published, consulted, and trained community practitioners extensively in the interconnection of addiction treatment and family therapy with a special focus on women, domestic violence, youth, and problem gambling. Dr. Shadley is a past-president of the Nevada Association for Marriage & Family Therapy, past-president of the Safe n’ Sober Foundation, founder and past-president of Oikos, an adolescent treatment program, past treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Nevada Network Against Domestic Violence and served on Nevada’s initial regulatory board for Drug and Alcohol Counselors. She presently sits on the Nevada Attorney General’s Committee on Domestic Violence, and has received several leadership awards including the John Chappell Award for Excellence as a Substance Abuse Treatment Professional in 2008.
