Substance use disorders can sometimes feel like a never ending onslaught of difficult or challenging news.  One of the overlooked difficulties surrounding addiction is the negative stigma that can be associated with seeking treatment, or identifying as being in recovery.  In this article VICE news discusses one of the few good things that have come from the current opioid crisis.  Society is awakening to the reality that substance use disorder can strike anyone at anytime.  As the face of addicts and users changes, society is beginning to change and treat people seeking treatment with the dignity and respect that they deserve.
